Today, almost all lost teeth can be replaced with implant treatment.

Specialist dental care covers several different types of treatment. One of the biggest treatments, both in terms of complexity and volume, is implants. This procedure involves replacing lost teeth with a synthetic implant that is permanently fitted and designed to look like natural teeth, significantly improving the quality of life of people who have endured missing teeth or dentures. Currently almost all lost teeth can be replaced using this treatment, which involves a titanium screw being inserted into the jawbone where it can grow into position. A crown or bridge is then attached to this to replace the lost teeth.

Another example of a diagnosis within specialist dentistry is periodontitis. This is caused by a bacterial infection that produces inflammation in the periodontal attachment of the tooth. There are currently methods for stimulating tissue growth, which means that the patient stands a good chance of regaining healthy teeth if he/she seeks treatment early on.
