Quality and results
Within Service Line Bariatrics, extensive work has been done in conjunction with the Sahlgrenska University Hospital to establish a standardised, quality assured method of taking care of morbidly obese patients.
This system is called the Obesity Management System (OMS). The system is tailored to local clinics and is being constantly developed further. An Advisory Board was founded at the end of 2009, consisting of leading researchers and surgeons from the university and the separate clinics. This Board will work on establishing a number of quality parameters, which will be followed in order to improve the care and which will be published. Through their participation in the Swedish quality register, SOReg (Scandinavian Obesity Surgery Registry), the Swedish clinics have come on a long way in this work.
A parameter that is carefully followed-up is the complication frequency where Global Health Partner´s results are very good compared to other clinics performing bariatric surgery in Sweden.
