Restructuring and increased ownership in Spine Center Bergen

Global Health Partner has increased its ownership in the former associated company Spine Center Bergen. In connection with the reconstruction of the company, the business has been combined with that of Global Health Partner's subsidiary, Bariatric Center Bergen, which runs a growing business within obesity surgery. Long-term good development opportunities have been created for the clinic through this process. Global Health Partner's participating interest in the restructured company amounts to 75%.

Since 2005 Spine Center Bergen has conducted business activities within spine surgery, with western Norway as its catchment area. The clinic is a high-volume center, with over 400 spine operations per year. The business has been run both with public volume contracts from Helse Vest and with private patients and insurance patients.

After a recent procurement process carried out by Helse Vest, Spine Center Bergen lost certain public volumes of spine surgery. A reconstruction of the company has thereafter been carried out with good results. With regard to spine surgery, the business will focus on the insurance market, private patients and health care guarantee patients, where the company has an agreement with Helse Vest. Global Health Partner is contributing funding and is thus increasing its ownership in the company. After the merger with Global Health Partner's subsidiary Bariatric Center Bergen, where business activities were started during 2009 and which has had good development within obesity surgery, the participating interest is further increased and amounts to just over 75%.

Through Service Line Spine Global Health Partner conducts business activities within spine surgery/spine care at clinics in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Bergen. Through Service Line Bariatrics business activities are run within obesity surgery and metabolic diseases in Stockholm, Lund, Bergen, Birmingham, Cairo, Helsinki and Ajman (United Arab Emirates).
