GHP in brief
GHP was founded in August 2006 with the ambition to demonstrate the possibility to take delivery of health care services beyond the standards and expectations created by the first generation of private providers like Capio, General de Santé, Röhn Klinikum et. al. A belief in a more customer orientated and demanding environment, a better educated patient and higher demands on quality outcomes paired with the scarcity of top class doctors and the inherent deficiencies of the general hospital delivery model creates the opportunity for an alternative business model.
Demand for health care services continues to grow in all developed economies. Public insurance- or tax based financed systems are under severe pressure to keep up with the demand side of the sector. Productivity in public delivery systems is poor and there are no signs of improvement. At the same time it becomes more and more obvious that medical quality, service quality, patient safety and patient rights as well as equality is lacking within the public systems, leaving patients with long waiting times, poor medical outcomes and a bad taste for the service they are offered.
In the light of the need for new solutions, and a judgment that the timing for introduction of new solutions was right, we formed our business model. It is centered along a partnership with the best doctors-specialists in their fields, in well selected therapeutic areas that are likely to open up for private initiatives. The partnerships align interests and inspire physicians to become a creative force in the development of the clinics. The model is also tailored for duplication, on an international scale, with minor adoptions to different market conditions.
